We are looking for a Management Accountant

Within our Roots Division we are looking for a diligent, self-motivated team player who can exceed in their duties to help us retain our position as a leading roots supplier in the UK. This role will be based at our Yaxley site in Peterborough.

This a full-time contract, you will join us on a permanent contract, working on Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00. Initially this will be an office based role, however we are open to adopt a hybrid working arrangement if required.

The job role

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts covering the divisions profitability and margin analysis by customer and product
  • Preparation and submission of monthly management accounts schedules
  • Reconciliation of raw material and packaging stock valuation
  • Reconciliation of sales and cost variances
  • Monthly overhead reconciliation and variance reporting
  • Production of weekly labour reporting
  • Preparing group overrider schedules and reconciliations
  • Maintain group standard costing model
  • Optimising financial processes across the division
  • Adopt best practice in terms of financial and management information
  • Encourage adherence to business governance principals
  • Cost reduction/lean manufacturing/continuous improvement programmes

What we will be looking for in your skills set

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified / part qualified
  • Proven experience in a Finance position
  • Ability to prepare and analyse management accounts
  • Understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and identification of risks on the ledger
  • Food industry experience would be desirable.
  • Comfortable and confident enough to work on your own as well as part of a team
  • Quick and eager to learn
