We are looking for a SHE Manager

Within our Roots division we are looking for an exceptional, forward thinking team player who can exceed in their duties to help us retain our position as a leading roots supplier in the UK.

You will be required to work across two of our sites in Cambridgeshire, in Isleham CB7 and Yaxley, PE7. This a full-time permanent contract, working 40 hours per week.

The job role

As a SHE Manager you will play a key role in the implementation and delivery of our safety, health and environmental practices, processes, and procedures across the Roots division:

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Be a “boots on the ground”, visible member of the Senior Management Team, encouraging a positive health and safety culture
  • Develop and drive engagement and behavioural safety programmes throughout areas of responsibility –
  • Provide coaching and support to the senior management team to ensure any company SHE objectives are met
  • Ensuring systems are established which seek to promote and improve Safety, Health and Environment within all areas of responsibility
  • Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming health, safety and environmental legislation and ensure the business has systems and practice in place to meet legal compliance
  • Ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated in a timely manner and preventative measures implemented
  • Assist in capital expenditure project proposals in respect of Safety, Health & Environmental improvements
  • Report on SHE KPIs and report to Site Management Teams and the Group Head of Risk at agreed frequencies. Identifying trends, areas for improvement and communicate positive outcomes
  • Develop and implement waste management within areas of responsibility and continually review to achieve cost reduction and improvements in respect of environmental impacts such as recycling, water and energy use
  • Ensure completion of specific site Risk Assessments for COSHH, Fire, DSEAR and Workplace Transport and First Aid. Identify and ensure completion of any other required specific Risk Assessments
  • Co-ordinate the development and implementation of Safety Improvement Plans

What we will be looking for in your skills set

  • Practical experience of environmental management
  • Excellent knowledge of SHE management systems
  • Completed NEBOSH certificate
  • Health and Safety experience within a FMCG environment is desirable
  • Ability to work cohesively with different stakeholders across the business
