We are looking for Multi Skilled Yard Operative!
At our Production site based in Isleham, Ely we are looking for a dynamic team player who can exceed in their duties to help us retain our position as a leading fresh produce supplier in the UK. We’re dedicated to using the very best of sustainable farming techniques in our own farming and collaborating with other expert farmers. We grow the finest quality potatoes, root vegetables which we pack ourselves to supply to our customers.
You will join us on a fulltime, permanent contract.
The shift pattern will be Panama, two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, two days on, three days off, equating to 82.25 hours per fortnight.
Responsibility
The Job Role
Reporting directly to the operations manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that we meet quality standards and complete all customers orders on time.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- To provide work instructions to the Yard Operative
- Conduct start up checks on FLT / MHE and report any faults to you Line Manager
- Load and unload vehicles with FLT: trays, pallets, packaging, machinery, etc
- To empty the stone trailer/Processing trailer as required, using the tractor unit
- Load bulk trailers using the teleporter
- Move empty and full trailers around our Yard area as well as to TBG
- Assist the Engineering team in moving heavy equipment
- Manage the safe storage of goods/sundries in the Yard
- Assist and serve stock feed customers in a professional manner
- Maintain high standards in Yard area that comply with HSE and GMP requirements
- Ensure that any equipment damage is reported to your Line Manager immediately
- To ensure that all boxes are fit for purpose and in a good state of repair
- Accurate use of the Navision system
- Maintain good working relationships with all colleagues on site as well as visitors
- Manage daily tasks to ensure continuous production flow
- Promote the H&S of yourself and your colleague & risks reported to Line Manager
- Ensure compliance with Food safety/Personal Hygiene policy standards
- Undertake any other duties requested by your Line Manager

What we are looking for
- Previous experience working in a busy yard environment
- FLT, Tractor, Shunter, Teleporter Licences
- Ability to access, read and respond to emails via MS Outlook
- Excellent communication skills
