We are looking for an experienced Shift Leader to join our experienced management team and play a key role in ensuring that we meet quality standards and complete all customer orders on time.

The Job Role

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that we meet quality standards and complete all customers orders on time.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Image
    Empower your team to provide input and suggestions, which lead to continuous improvement and development, promoting a customer first culture.
  • Image
    Ensure teamwork within the sites policies and procedures by leading by example.
  • Image
    Attend daily meetings with information on previous days performances.
  • Image
    Deliver year-on-year cost reductions in order to retain/ improve margins.
  • Image
    Optimise year-on-year quality improvements.
  • Image
    Attend site / group operational meetings as required.
  • Image
    Report department performance daily/weekly using the sites reporting systems/ Navision.
  • Image
    Formally communicate with team weekly/monthly to feedback team performance.
  • Image
    Ensure all H&S / HR (people) documentation is in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Image
    Responsible for the departments H&S and people (HR) agenda, promoting ownership and growing trust within the department.
  • Image
    Conduct investigations and disciplinary hearings up to final written warning.
  • Image
    Conduct Accident Investigations

What we are looking for

  • Image
    Previous experience as a supervisor/manager within a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Image
    Previous experience of people management as well as responsibility for delivery of KPIs and monitoring performance.
  • Image
    Good level of English and Maths
  • Image
    Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Image
    A real team player with a positive attitude to implement change.
  • Image
    An ability to show initiative and to work collaboratively with others across the business.
