We are looking for an experienced Tractor Driver Supervisor who is looking for the next step in their career, to join our busy farm team. 

Responsibility

The Job Role

Reporting directly to the Farm Manager, supervising the farm team, you will pay a key role in ensuring that we meet quality standards and maximise productivity. 

The responsibilities of the role include:

    Assist the Farm Manager with the running of the daily operations and to ensure all relevant processes and procedures are always followed.

    Manage the RCSO team when Managers are away from the business
  • Image
    Manage key operations when required, as directed by the Managers e.g. Harvesting, irrigating, plating, workshop activities.
  • Image
    Take responsibility for the cleanliness of the workshop and yard and manage fertiliser stocks throughout the growing season.
  • Image
    To undertake all aspects as required of roots production and manage your operational set targets throughout the season.  The key objective being to maximise productivity and profitability of crop.  Fully accountable for making sure your key areas of responsibility are met.

    Taking direction and then ownership for all activities such as bed prep, drilling, weeding (mechanical), irrigation, all aspects of harvesting and carried out in an effective and efficient manner.

    Working when required on other areas of farming as directed by general manager.
  • Image
    Able to maintain and upkeep all machinery to the highest possible standard within the budgets set by your manager. You are expected to be able to fix all machines whilst working on the job having the ability to use all tools provided.

    In periods of downtime you are expected to work in the workshop maintaining all equipment as instructed by your line manager.
  • Image
    Ensure a high level of record keeping of all operations, especially drill sheets, hand weeding costs, QA sheets, harvesting sheets, irrigation record keeping, spraying record keeping etc.

    Ensuring that all check sheets you are provided with are completed daily and any issues are reported to farms manager.

What we are looking for

  • Image
    Experience of working in a farm setting, experience with latest technologies such as GPS Autosteer and guidance.
  • Image
    Practical experience of driving a tractor
  • Image
    Experience in supervising or managing people
  • Image
    Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Image
    A real team player with a positive attitude to implement change.
  • Image
    An ability to show initiative and to work collaboratively with others across the business.
