Wash Team Leader

We are looking for a Wash Team Leader!

At our Production site based in Isleham, Cambridgeshire we are looking for a diligent, self-motivated team player who can exceed in their duties to help us retain our position as a leading conventional roots supplier in the UK.

You will join us on a fulltime, permanent contract.

The shift pattern will be 4 on 4 off, 05:30 to 18:00, equating to 48 and 36 hours per week rotating. This is in return for a competitive salary of £35,700.

Responsibility

The Job Role

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join the Wash Department to play a key role in ensuring that quality standards are met, and customer orders are completed on time.

Key responsibilities

    Lead the wash team to deliver increased operational efficiencies, utilising lean practices wherever possible.
  • Image
    Manage the Wash department to ensure it compliance with customer specification and audit excellence.
  • Image
    Work collaboratively with Procurement, Supply Chain, Technical and Production departments to ensure the best use and planning of crop.
  • Image
    Work collaboratively with Finance, HR and H&S functions to ensure all operational, ethical, health and safety and environmental matters are managed efficiently in accordance with legal requirements.

    Work with Hygiene Team on priorities and ensure the area is kept to required standards.
  • Image
    Work closely with Engineers Team on planned maintenance and priorities.

    Identify and promote improvement programmes.
  • Image
    Take accountability for Wash success.
  • Image
    Ensure team work within the site policies and procedures. Lead by example.
  • Image
    Lead and embed a culture of ownership regarding quality assurance and customer delivery.
  • Image
    Drive a culture of performance, ensuring that team have an adequate number of trained individuals to meet workload.
  • Image
    Ensure department have clear KPI’s and are conversant with actual performance in relation to targeted performance.

    Ensure training and SOPs for the Wash is adequate and up to date.
  • Image
    Ensure that the quality specifications are met, and the site is compliant to relevant quality and service level standards.
  • Image
    Ensure that the wash department is audit ready at all times.
  • Image
    Take responsibility for adequate level of labour requirements that will provide the best quality result at the most efficient cost.
  • Image
    Identify and lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement within the business.
  • Image
    Ensure all process control information is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Image
    Provide information that explains any variances to standard labour cost and efficiencies, have an action plan to deal with these variances.
  • Image
    Carry out, as required, such other duties as may be necessary to efficiently run the wash.

    Experienced in working with Machinery

    Experience Leading production teams

    Good level of computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Image
    Good numeracy, spelling, and grammar

    Ability to influence and build strong relationship with own and other teams.

    Fluent level of English

    Previous knowledge on a Celox machine or other optical graders

    NAV ERP system
