    Our heritage

    Back in 1898, Harry and Percy Burgess first began growing vegetables in the Peterborough Fens and running a fruit and vegetable shop in Richmond, London. Since then, we have evolved into a leading supplier of sustainable roots, potatoes and organic vegetables for the UK with active involvement from the fourth generation of the Burgess family.

    Our heritage

    Russell Burgess Ltd was established to pack and market fresh fruit and vegetables.

    1999

    A joint-venture growing operation was formed between Las Lomas and the Produce World Group in 1999.

    Russell Burgess merges with Sutton Bridge Ltd to form Solanum Ltd.

    2014

    TIO and Fenmarc Roots division based at Swinderby acquired; strengthening position in key markets.

    Major investment in our Sutton Bridge and Isleham sites.

    2018

    Trading as Burgess Farms, we restructured into two divisions, Burgess Farm Produce and RBOrganic.

    2023

    We brought all roots packing under one roof in order to maximise efficiency and reduce carbon footprint of despatch.
