Business Manager

We are looking for a Business Manager!

Based at either our Sutton Bridge or Isleham sites, with a requirement of regular travel, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who can exceed in their duties to help us retain our position as a leading fresh produce supplier in the UK.

You will join us on a fulltime, permanent contract.

The shift pattern will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The hours of work are Monday to Friday. 

Responsibility

The Job Role

As a Business Manager you will be responsible for building effective external and internal business relationships, whilst exceeding sales and margin targets for Burgess Farms, creating and implementing annual account plans for your customers and shaping the commercial strategy. Key responsibilities include:

    Fully responsible for the management of specific accounts and support Burgess Farms in the targeting and acquisition of new accounts as directed.

    Develop divisional account plans for all customers whilst working collaboratively with other divisions
  • Image
    Meet regularly with all relevant buyers to present new product ideas and review Joint Business Plans.

    JBP negotiations
  • Image
    Lead NPD process including product development, costings, demonstrations, market research to support NPD.
  • Image
    Support technical teams at all meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned to requests of the business.
  • Image
    Working with Head of Procurement, develop plans to maximise the value of the crop of the business
  • Image
    Weekly forecast analysis and amendments for all accounts – working with Planning and Procurement as required.
  • Image
    Working with supply chain and procurement to ensure you are fully aware of stock levels for all accounts and proactively work with customers on solutions.
  • Image
    Working with the finance team to fully review and take action on accounts or products that need to be margin enhanced or detail the strategic reason for the pricing.
  • Image
    Proactively develop strong relationships with key functions across the Group.

What we are looking for

Required

  • Image
    Proven experience in category and account management
  • Image
    Proven time management skills: Accustomed to working with and meeting time critical deadlines
  • Image
    Forecasting experience
  • Image
    High level of computer literacy
  • Image
    MS Office
  • Image
    Strong communication skills both verbally and written

Desirable

  • Image
    NPD project management experience
  • Image
    Experience of the fresh produce industry
  • Image
    Level 5 Diploma in Sales and Account Management
  • Image
    Degree educated
  • Image
    Experience of customer and market reporting tools such as Circana, Dunnhumby, Beets or NIQ
  • Image
    Experience with Dynamics NAV
